Zen Master Gosung Shin
Zen Master Gosung Shin was ordained a priest of the Chogye Sect of Korean Buddhism by Ven. Zen Master Sul-Bong in 1956. He arrived in the United States in May 1969 from South Korea where he had been the abbot of three Zen Buddhist temples. In 1971 Master Shin moved to Philadelphia to teach religion at Lehigh University. Over the years, Master Shin has founded new Zen institutions in Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, and Washington D.C. before establishing The American Zen College.
